Join us Sunday

A GREAT DAY AT FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH-FRIDAY
Today began with the Men’s Coffee Fellowship at 8:30 a. m. in room 108.  The men gather for fellowship, free coffee and a special prayer time.  Office is very busy with final preparation for Sunday.  At 11:30 a. m. there will be a family luncheon for the Billie Rushin family.
Tomorrow (2/16) the two big ministry events are schedule at the ROC.  Saturday is the last day of games in Upward Basketball and at 4:00 p. m. the Upward Basketball Ceremony will be held for parents and participants.  At 6:00 p. m. the Fifth Grade Bash will be held.  There are games, food, door prizes and plenty of good excitement for all fifth graders in Hopkins County.
This Sunday (2/17) Dr. Preben Vang will be here to preach in the morning worship services.  The worship service times are 8:30 a. m. and 11:00 a. m.  His morning message will be: “Wrestling With God” from Genesis 32:22-32.  There will be a special baptism of McKenna Post in the 8:30 a. m. worship service.  At 9:45 a. m. the Bible Study Life Groups meet throughout the church building and there are classes for all ages.  Everyone is invited to be a part of a Bible Study Life Group.
Two big trips will be taken by FBC family or anyone that would like to go with us.  In October we will be taking a big trip to Boston and the north eastern part of the United States for a fall color trip.  It will include the history of Boston, two nights in Bar Harbor and a special visit to the first Baptist church established in America at Providence, Rhode Island.  Please text me or call the church office to get a trip brochure.  Another big trip will be in July, 2020 to the Passion Play in Oberammergau, Germany.  There are brochures available in the church office or texting me.  The Passion Play in Oberammergau was begun in 1630 and it is done every 10 years.
On Sunday evening (2/24) the Rehoboth Baptist Association will hold the annual Evangelism Rally beginning at 6:00 p. m. in the FBC Worship Center.  Our own FBC Worship Choir led by Tom Fineout will be leading the worship service.
Have a great weekend in your neighborhood!   Fred W. Lewis
