A GREAT DAY AT FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH-TUESDAY
Today is Tuesday and a beautiful day in Sulphur Spring at 76 degrees.  I guess our northern friends would love to see 76 degrees.  Parents Day Out began this morning at 9:00 a. m.  Just to let you know that Mark Beggs is now a student at Truett Seminary in Waco beginning work toward his doctorate.  He is there on Monday and we are blessed to have him at First Baptist Church.  Please pray for him and encourage him.  Mark is a very talented person and grew up in FBC.
Tomorrow night (2/6) RECHARGE will be led by John Ginn.  RECHARGE meets in room 109 and begins at 6:15 p. m.  The church family meal menu is:  chicken fried steak; baked potatoes; cheese & sour cream, salad, roll, drink and dessert.  FBC is the place to be on Wednesday night.  There is always a place for you and the community is always invited to attend.  New Life Journey classes are in full session and you can still be a part of a class.
Thursday (2/7) the Women Going Forward Luncheon for widows and single ladies will be held in room 108 at noon.  The luncheon is free and under the leadership ministry of Emma Shaw.  All ladies in the church and community are invited to attend.
People have different reasons for attending a particular church.  Each person’s reason is valid and we should respect that person’s right.  We are blessed in the USA to have freedom to go to church and have choice where we do attend.  We should always be thankful for this freedom and work to keep this freedom.  A nation is always one generation away at any time in history to lose their freedom and their country.  Every Christian should pray daily for our national, state and local government leadership.

A GREAT DAY AT FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH-MONDAY

Yesterday was a glorious day at First Baptist Church.  So many wonderful experiences at worship, Bible Study Life Groups and in the evening Big Game Sunday at the ROC.  At worship we saw a young man baptized and Dr. Vang preached a wonderful biblical message to the church family.  In Bible Study there was the Starting Point Class led by Bruce Welch and concluded with a wonderful lunch.  Also, in Bible Study two departments met together in room 109 and Brad Holland taught the lesson to two different generations of people.  During the month of February these two departments will be sharing the Bible Study time together.
Last night, the church family had an exciting time at the ROC.  There were many different ages and generations.  Greg Owens brought the devotional and it was exceptional.  He shared how different generations had different needs and values.  He challenged each generation to learn, share and respect each generation.  There was a lot of excitement, good food, fellowship and some watching the game.  We want to thank all the staff and people that pitched in to help make this ministry event so successful.
Today is Monday and we will begin the day with staff meeting.  The Community Bible Study led by Dr. Cutrell will meet tonight.
On Wednesday (2/6) RECHARGE will be led by John Ginn.  RECHARGE meets in room 109 and begins at 6:15 p. m.  The church family meal menu is:  chicken fried steak; baked potatoes; cheese & sour cream, salad, roll, drink and dessert.  FBC is the place to be on Wednesday night.
God calls his Kingdom and Church to make disciples.  At FBC, we accomplish this mission by GATHER, GROW, GO.  The mission of the church never changes, but the methodology of the mission will change.  God is still on His Throne and God desires all of creation to know of His love.  We will use different methods to tell HIS STORY to the world.  FBC is always on mission to make disciples.
A SPECIAL NOTICE!  On Wednesday (2/13) at Christus Mother Francis-Sulphur Springs from noon to 1:30 p. m. there will be a “Healthy Heart” lunch and learn.  Dr. V. Ram Aligeti, MD, Cardiologist, will be the main speaker and it is a great opportunity for you and the community to learn about heart health and care.  There will be additional heart help and information provided at this meeting.

God has a purpose and plan for your life.  Last Sunday’s Bible Study lesson for about Jacob who was at trickster and schemer.  Regardless of his many faults, God could forgive him, change his name to Israel and use him to be a blessing to many generations in the future.  If God can forgive a person like Israel, God can forgive and use you and me.
Have a great day in your neighborhood!
